The Harbor Collective - Eastie Food Crawl
ABOUT THIS EVENT
Some neighborhoods don't get enough credit. East Boston is one of them!
On Saturday, May 9th, The Harbor Collective is taking over Eastie for a curated food crawl through three of the neighborhood's most beloved spots — on foot, together, with vibes in tow, all for ONE SET PRICE!!
This will be a curated social experience designed for people who want to explore the city, make new friends, and actually have conversations worth remembering.
We start the night at our private gallery space at 126 Border St with welcome margaritas and introductions. Then we walk through Eastie's streets to great food with three stops that each bring something different to the table.
By the time we land at the last stop, you won't be a stranger to anyone in the room. After the crawl is done and if you still have the energy, you can carry the vibes over to a local club with some special discounts exclusive to Harbor Collective guests.

THE STOPS
Pregame — The Boston East Gallery(126 Border St) Welcome drinks, light snacks, good energy, and a moment to get acquainted before the night takes off.
Stop 1 — La Hacienda(150 Meridian St) An Eastie institution. Big flavors, generous portions, and the kind of lively room that sets the tone for a great night.
Stop 2 — Taco Mex(65 Maverick Square) Right in the center of bustling Maverick Square. Cozy, art-covered walls, and delicious food. A true neighborhood gem.
Stop 3 — Democracy Brewing Eastie(154 Maverick St) Tucked away in former post office. This jaunt is giving you craft beer, hard seltzers, wine, hearty bites and patio vibes to close out the crawl. This could be the end or the just the beginning of your night!

Sip & Script: Modern Calligraphy for Beginners (DTX)
Whether you’re a stationery nerd, DIY Bride-to-be, or just a crafty individual, you’ll be introduced to modern calligraphy with a pointed dip pen and ink in this workshop. We will cover all the basics and prepare you to add those unique lettered details to your snail mail, wedding paper goods, home decor, and more! The perfect crafty afternoon out!
Class includes 1.5 hours of instruction and demonstration, our beginner’s calligraphy kit (two nibs, black ink pot, 2 letter guides, tracing paper, and straight pen holder), and all materials to write on. Everything is yours to keep at the end of the workshop!
Feel free to come early, grab your seat, and purchase any food or drinks (food and drinks are available to purchase throughout the class, too!). Class will start promptly at 1 PM!
Class Expectations: Yes, lefties are welcome too! This class is encouraged for someone who has never taken a calligraphy class before. We teach the basics, and our expectation for you is to have ink flowing through your nib with enough confidence to be able to practice way beyond class. We love using tracing paper with our guides to help you build muscle memory and develop your own style! If you have tried calligraphy out before, this class will be a great refresher and hopefully a chance to try some new supplies from our beginner kit that will re-introduce you to this lovely form of art!
A note on bringing guests 16 and under: We love to share this passion with kids. You are welcome to get a ticket for your child if you are comfortable with people around them having a drink or two. We ask that a ticketed adult accompany anyone under the age of 16 at all times.

About Two Page Tuesday (Briefly)
Two Page Tuesday is a prose and poetry reading series in Greater Boston consisting of six(ish) readers reading two pages of brand-new work, after which are any number of social hours during which we encourage readers and attendees to socialize, eat, drink, and generally be merry.
Long readings are too long, short readings are just right, and we love a reason to get out of the house and hang out with our wonderful friends and literary community.
Featuring: Alia Georges, Georgie Nink, Joy Bergner, Kerri Gamache, Rachel Trousdale, and more to come.

Ricotta Gnocchi with Sage Butter and Guanciale Crumbles
Join Chef Oli at 35 Temple Street for an interactive and elevated pasta-making experience, focused on mastering the art of ricotta gnocchi- a lighter, more approachable cousin to the traditional potato version. You’ll learn how to prepare pillowy gnocchi from scratch, sear them to perfection in a brown butter sage sauce, and top them with crisp guanciale and freshly grated Parmesan. Chef Oli’s teaching style blends fine-dining precision with cultural storytelling, guiding you step-by-step from dough formation to plating like a pro.
No experience is required! We provide all the equipment and ingredients, which are easy to find at local markets if you don’t already have them in your home kitchen. This class is designed to be just as fun for the cooking enthusiast who wants to be a part of every step as it is for the first-timer who’s happier observing and assisting (or taste testing).
The nature of our classes is set up so that booking parties will work together during class, sharing both ingredients and equipment. Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in. Drinks are available for purchase from the venue and are NOT included in the ticket price. Outside drinks are not allowed. 21+ only.

About your headliner
Jim Tews was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. He joined the U.S. Coast Guard after high school and was stationed in Cleveland where he started stand-up comedy. After completing his enlistment, he studied Film Production at Cleveland State University. He continued performing standup while in college, often to the detriment of his grades. In 2011, after finally finishing college, he moved to New York City to work as a comedian and writer. When the pandemic hit, while stuck inside, Jim taught himself to animate. He currently works as an independent animator and writer and is again regularly leaving the house to perform standup.

Matthew P Brown is a Stand Up Comedian and Writer. Matthew, originally from Massachusetts, started his Stand Up career in Boston and has since performed all over the United States. With over a decade of experience, he recently filmed his debut Comedy Special that is being released summer 2026! Matthew has been featured in the Rogue Island Comedy Festival and he performs at the worlds top comedy clubs including, The Comedy Store, Hollywood Improv and many others. Matthew has acquired millions of views throughout multiple social media platforms and can be seen sharing stories of childhood, relationships, family and the moments in life we all go through for audiences everywhere.
