We are Democracy Brewing, a worker-owned brewing company and restaurant built on the belief that great hospitality can help build strong communities.

We opened our doors in Downtown Boston on Independence Day 2018 with one goal in mind — to bring back the spirit of the traditional public house, a place where people from all walks of life can gather, share a pint and feel at home. Our mission is simple. We brew some of the best beer in New England, pair it with scratch-made food and serve it with a side of two great American ideals — democracy and owning your own business.

Step inside and you’ll find the warmth of a neighborhood pub mixed with the camaraderie and buzz of an old-world beer hall. Our tasting room features a full kitchen, a welcoming atmosphere and an event space that hosts everything from community fundraisers and art shows to live music and cultural gatherings.

At the heart of it is a simple belief that everyone deserves ownership in the work they create. Pride and shared success shouldn’t be reserved for a few — they should be part of everyday life. We believe the dream of owning your own business should be attainable to everyone and the majority of folks who work should be able to enjoy the profit and pride that comes with ownership.
